Changes to my study programme

Imagen
I have think a lot about this subject. My career needs a lot of equipment for the students, like camera, microphones, etc. Sadly, some of this equipment are broken or have been used too much. I think it would be great if the university could buy more. Also, my Sound teacher says we should have a sound studio, and I think he's right, I always have to record sound at my house, and it's never quiet enough to make a good recording. I think we should have a studio to record foley too, that would be great, specially to the students that want to do sound in movies. Foley studio I think the length of the studies is okay. Besides, it's no necessary to have a degree to make movies. A lot of directors didn't finish their studies, (they had money tho). The workload it's not that bad, except at the end of the semester. In two weeks I have to travel to Viña del Mar to record my exam. I'm really gonna be happy when the semester ends. Anyway, I think the subjects I had...

English Language Challenges

Imagen
I've only had English at university this semester, so I don't know anything about the other levels. Also, last year I was in Bachillerato in the same university and I didn't had English, so my last experience with this language was in high school in 2016.  I think the blog system was really original, I could improve in my writing, which was one of the things I was less confident about. I was pretty worried about my talking too, but with the videos and the exercises in class, I think I got a little better, even if I still can improve.  I'm also in an elective in which we talk in English, so I could practice even more. Sadly, classes end next week :( Now the semester is almost over, so I have to focus in practicing on my own, I'm probably gonna watch a lot of movies and TV shows in English without subtitles, like "Friends" (I read is one of the best shows to learn English with). Right now I'm mostly watching Youtube videos in English and listenin...

Summer Holidays

Imagen
I haven't talk to my parents about what are we gonna do in summer, so I don't have any plans. Besides, I have classes until January so most of my summer is gonna be spent in Santiago, it's such a shame! However, I would love to travel to the south with my family (my father, my mother and my sister), I would like to know the "Torres del Paine", "Las siete tazas" and all the touristic stuff Chile has. My mom has been in a lot of places, but she was alone. I think in family it could be really funny, because we get along really well, and we are very close to each other. We don't like to travel with big groups of people, just the four of us. Las Siete Tazas national park  I think we would be out for a couple of weeks if the money allows it. If not, we're surely gonna spent a lot of time just in our house, watching movies and sleeping, haha. I would like to take a lot of pictures with a camera, not with my cellphone, because photos would be ...

So, today I have to write about any theme, great! I want to write about my favorite girlband: Little Mix . This group is from the UK and is formed by 4 girls: Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards. From left to right: Leigh-Anne, Jesy, Perrie and Jade They competed in the X factor UK in 2011 and were the first girlband to win in the history of the show. They met each other there. One judge decided that they looked great together and formed the group, and she was totally right! They were really talented, and amazed the audience. That same year they debuted as a girlband with their first single "Cannonball". After that, they released their first album "DNA" with the lead single being "Wings" 7 years have passed, and they're stronger than ever. This year, in November 16th, they released their fifth album "LM5" with songs about female empowerment and body acceptance, taking all the sexism and the insults ...

Post Graduate Studies

Imagen
This is my first year in the filmmaking career, but I've think a lot about what's gonna happen after my graduation. I'm not sure if I wanna study something related to learning about cinema genres, because I think it's important to know things about other subjects that we've never seen in the career, like musical composition or acting. I would love to take a course about cinema makeup.  All the special effects in Saw are made with makeup! I love when the special effects of the movies aren't made with 3D animation but with makeup. You can create an unknown creature, make a person look old, you can create a wound, etc. Knowing how to do it could be really useful in the future and could open more gates for me in the working world. In Chile there is a course about special effects and fantasy, in the Film School. I guess that is my first option, but I'm open to more possibilities. It would be really great if I can study cinema makeup in another country....

My future job

Imagen
Right now I'm studying to be a filmmaker. This is just my first year, but I think that I know what I want to do with this career. I think that I would maybe work in a film production company, even if is a small one, because that could offer me the possibility of a regular job (that is really weird in this career) and a regular salary. However, I'm really interested in the possibility of doing things on my own.  It's gonna be hard but not impossible. I think that if I learn a lot about other areas like music and animation I could make some audiovisual stuff myself. Now, regarding the salary, that's a complicated subject. I'm not studying this thinking that I'm gonna be rich. I want a salary enough to live without struggles, I'm probably gonna economize a lot, especially when it becomes necessary to but a new equipment. Travelling a lot doing what I like would be fantastic! I already had to travel outside Santiago to recording in just my first semeste...

My Career

Imagen
When I was 13 years old, I started to be really interested in movies, I liked to watch them, do research and similar stuff. However, I started being interested in the Filmmaking career the year after, when I was 14 years old. That same year I rejected the idea and decided to study Psychology , and I'm not really sure why I did that.  When it was time to decide, I applied to Psychology but I didn't got accepted. I entered Bachillerato to do a transfer after 1 year.  The year I was in Bachillerato I remembered my love for cinema, and started researching about the career. I decided that it was better for me than Psychology, because it was more related to things that I actually like. So, at the end of the year, I took the PSU for the second time and applied to the Filmmaking career.  My second option was Journalism , because I had the option to do an intern transfer to Filmmaking if I approved the first year. Luckily, I was accepted in my first option. This is jus...
