English Language Challenges

I've only had English at university this semester, so I don't know anything about the other levels. Also, last year I was in Bachillerato in the same university and I didn't had English, so my last experience with this language was in high school in 2016.
I think the blog system was really original, I could improve in my writing, which was one of the things I was less confident about. I was pretty worried about my talking too, but with the videos and the exercises in class, I think I got a little better, even if I still can improve.
I'm also in an elective in which we talk in English, so I could practice even more. Sadly, classes end next week :(
Now the semester is almost over, so I have to focus in practicing on my own, I'm probably gonna watch a lot of movies and TV shows in English without subtitles, like "Friends" (I read is one of the best shows to learn English with). Right now I'm mostly watching Youtube videos in English and listening a lot of music. I also watch streams in Twitch of people playing videogames, they talk in English pretty fast, so I have to be alert to understand everything.
I use English mostly in this class, but in my daily life I use it to translate songs that are in other language, like Korean. I also write in social media but not very often. I usually use it when I want to say something that I don't know if can be said in Spanish with the same intention, like "looking forward to...", "cringey" or acronyms like "brb" (be right back), "tbh" (to be honest), "s2g" (swear to God), "ftw" (for the win), etc.

  1. I've never watched friends, but I've heard that the show is so good! And the idiomatic expresions in english sometimes are irrepeaceable, for example the word "homesick". Here we have "nostálgico" that is not as exactly the same!

  2. Interesting the way you use English outside of class, I did not know that there were those acronyms to refer to what you put. One can always learn something new.

  3. You NEED to watch "Friends". First, it's a great serie and you will have fun! Second, it is a great way to learn english, because the most of the times it's "basic", and you will understand even if you don't have a large vocabulary. I hope you enjoy it!
